Terms of Use

1. The service

Semacheck — the web app at app.semacheck.app, the Android app, and the server they sync with — is provided by Aleksei Semenov (see the Impressum) as a private project, free of charge. There is no entitlement to its being available at any particular time, or to any particular feature. It may change. If it is ever discontinued, this will be announced on this site and in the app at least 30 days beforehand, and exporting your checklists keeps working throughout.

2. Your account

You sign in with your Google account. An account is for one person, who must be at least 16 years old. Keep your Google account secure: whoever can sign in to it can use your Semacheck account.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use Semacheck for anything unlawful. Do not try to break, overload or get around the service or its limits — on how much it holds and how quickly it accepts changes — and do not use it by automated means in bulk. An account that does any of this may be suspended or deleted; where possible you will be told by email first.

4. Your content stays yours

What you write in Semacheck belongs to you, and you are responsible for it. You grant only the rights needed to store it, process it and send it back to your own devices, for as long as your account exists. How your data is handled is described in the privacy policy.

5. No warranty, and liability

Semacheck is provided as is, without any warranty. The provider is liable only for intent and gross negligence. This limitation does not apply to injury to life, body or health, or to liability under the German Product Liability Act.

6. Keep your own copy

Export all checklists exists so that you can keep a copy of everything. Loss of data is covered only by section 5.

7. Ending

You can delete your account at any time, in the app under Settings → Delete account (see Delete account). The provider can end an account under section 3, or all accounts under section 1.

8. Law

German law applies. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection given to you by the mandatory law of the country where you live.

9. Changes

Changes to these terms are announced on this site and in the app at least 30 days before they apply. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before then; if you go on using Semacheck afterwards, the new terms apply.

10. Language

These terms exist in German and English. If the two differ, the German version prevails.
